Sweden out!

One of the biggest shocks and upsets in Eurovision history for many, many years occurred in tonight's 2nd semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Sweden failed to secure a top 10 place in the pan-European combined jury and televote and so will not be in the grand final.

This is the first time that Sweden will not be part of the final of the Eurovision Song Contest since 1976 and is the first time in the history of the semi final era that they failed to qualify.

Although Anna Bergendahl's song "This Is My Life" did not come in the top 10, it is not yet known what her position was. In 2008, Charlotte Perelli's song "Hero" also failed to come in the top 10 of the semi final but still qualified as a jury wildcard. There was no jury wildcard in 2010.

from Mina: "Anna was very good and she certainly deserved to qualify in the place of the cheap Romanian horror."

And which position did Romania finish in the final?

People i've talked too are not angry or depressed, just a little disappointed of course. In my opinion some of the songs that qualified did not deserve a place in the final, but that's a matter of opinion.

I don't think "Manboy" would have done better.

Anna was very good and she certainly deserved to qualify in the place of the cheap Romanian horror. Why she didn't....it was the song..in this semi, too many females, too many ballads..some would stay out. Too bad it was Sweden.
I believe that Salem would have qualified, that song was so different and juries liked it.
Oh well, there's always next year :d

Sorry Swedes, but I think you really should have sent a better song.
