Andra Chansen in Sweden

The penultimate show of Melodifestivalen 2013 takes place tonight at the Löfbergs Lila Arena, in Karlstad. The show begins at 20:00CET and you can join me here on escXtra.com for a live blog of the coverage from Sweden. Two of the eight artists performing tonight will reach the grand final to take place next Saturday night.

The running order is as follows:

1. You – Robin Stjernberg
2. Vi kommer aldrig att förlora – Eric Gadd
3. Hon har inte – Caroline af Ugglas
4. Jalla Dansa Sawa – Behrang Miri
5. Hello Goodbye – Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli
6. Begging – Anton Ewald
7. Burning Flags – Cookies N Beans
8. In And Out Of Love – Martin Rolinski

After all eight songs have been performed and subject to public vote, the bottom three will be eliminated, with the top 5 will proceed to the second voting round, after which two duels will be formed and the song in 5th place will be eliminated. The song in first place will battle against the one in fourth, whilst the songs in second and third will compete against each other in the other duel. The two duel winners will qualify to the final.

Whilst such second chance contests are often seen as a redundant event, Caroline af Ugglas, contending the Andra Chansen round again this year, finished second overall in Melodifestivalen having qualified through Andra Chansen in 2009. Alcazar's (2005) and The Moniker's (2011) third place finishes are other notable finalists that had to survive Andra Chansen before reaching the grand final.

It has been confirmed by SVT that Jedward (Ireland 2011, 2012) shall perform as guest stars at Andra Chansen, collaborating with hosts Gina Dirawi and Danny Saucedo to perform 'Lipstick'.

SVT will stream the show via their website, and be sure to join us here for coverage of this show and the determining of 5 Eurovision entries that shall take place in national finals and presentation shows around Europe this weekend.
