He may only have been chosen as Malta's Eurovision representative this weekend, Kurt Calleja already as a date in his promotional tour diary. He will be performing at next Sunday's Azeri final in Baku, in which Azerbiajan will choose its singer for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.

He will showcase his song "This is the night" to the Azeri audience. In 2011, Azerbaijan awarded Malta seven points in the semifinal- with Malta scoring Azerbaijan 10 and 12 points in the semifinal and final respectively.

Azeri broadcaster Ictimai also showed the Maltese national final last night.
