Hi everyone!

I'm a man with a plan. Well, a couple of plans, actually - and here's the lowdown on them...

Our ESCChat Song Contest seems to be going from strength to strength, with new members all the time. It is with this in mind that I think we should be starting up our own little version of the EBU, so that our countries can be members of a central organisation that can offer help and guidance to everyone when it comes to hosting the contest. It can also serve as a central spot for people to go when they want to find out information about other countries. I'm happy to set up and maintain a website so that we can ensure all new and existing entrants to the contest can have their info held centrally which in turn can be freely accessed by everyone. It'd be really cool to have a resource where hosts of the contest can have access to things like flag graphics and other handy info!

Also, members can post their strengths and specialisms when it comes to hosting - for instance, if someone needs help making a recap video, or calculating incoming scores, members of the broadcasting union can have a list of their technical specialities listed on the site so that the host can know who to turn to for help. In that instance, it would of course be appropriate (as Jonny has doen in previous contests) for members involved in any way with hosting to post their votes to ensure transparency. Anyway, feel free to reply on here if you have any thoughts.

Further to the point about our own EBU, it might be appropriate for us to decide on a name for our own continent, as it would be nothing short of IDIOCY to have it be called the European Broadcasting Union when we have fictional countries not in Europe. Again, reply here if you have any ideas for names and we can maybe take a vote in a week or so? That way we can also start naming the contest according to our continent's splendid new name!

So, what does everyone think? I reckon it might be nice to make it all that little bit more official, especially since we're expanding so quickly!

cool - me and mark kindve had NBU (Neapiri Broadcasting Union) but we havnt really done anything to it in ages - this would be much better
Resources like flags would be especially good

btw - Neapiri is the name of the continent in which Þiðbandið, Ishtaristan, Fusonia, Jabia and the other countries like that are located (its a mixture of two greek words - Nea Ipiri "New Continent")

Btw Black Daisystan has a new (and permanent) flag .. and we definitely didn't steal and merely modify another country's flag
