The 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will Spin the Magic in the Armenian capital of Yerevan. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) along with the Armenian broadcaster AMPTV have just released more details about the upcoming contest.
‘Spin The Magic’ is the motto to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the logo represents a spinning top which symbolises a continuous spin around the sun, sharing the magical feelings that this toy offers to the people who play with it.
It was very important for us to choose a symbol that would reflect the magic of the competition, and the 20th spin of Junior Eurovision that would unite all the children taking part.’
‘I am convinced that everyone has fond memories about this toy. While developing the idea, we realised that a lot of countries have spinning tops, each of them unique. This perfectly reflects the values of Junior Eurovision – everyone is united around the idea of magic, music and joy, and at the same time presenting a different song and performance.’
Hovhannes Movsisyan, CEO of Public TV of Armenia
For the second consecutive year, the Christmas atmosphere will involve the contest due to its proximity to the dates of the event. Happiness, magic and joy are some of the points in common that Junior Eurovision and Christmas share.
Naturally, the Armenian culture will also be highly present at this year’s Junior Eurovision, starting with the contest’s visual identity. The spinning top logo is decorated with traditional patterns that mimic the style that comes from the historical architecture, carpets, costumes and more other elements of the Armenian history.
Along with the ancient elements, the spinning top will feature a neon twist with the aim to reflect as well the modern side of Yerevan and Armenia. The colours will change to represent every flag of the sixteen participating countries.
JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2022

After the victory of Maléna and her “Qami Qami at the last festival held in Paris (France), the Karen Demirchyan Complex will host the contest for the second time in its history, as it did in 2011.
This is a very special edition as it is the 20th anniversary of the children’s festival. Therefore, public broadcaster ARMTV is preparing a big show where it hopes to have the largest number of participating countries fighting for the crystal microphone.
