What is the Semi-final allocation draw?

The Semi-final allocation draw is an annual Eurovision event, that most of the time gets paired with the Host City Insignia Exchange ceremony. The draw consists of two parts, which are the following:

  • First part: The allocation draw of the Big 5 countries and last year’s winner in the Grand Final. The Big 5 countries are Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The winner of this year is of course, Ukraine.
  • Second part: The draw of where the remaining 30 countries will be allocated in the Semi-finals, meaning in which of the two Semi-finals and in which half of the Semi-finals.

The running order of the acts in their Semi-finals and halfs will be decided by the production team of the contest, as to have a good divide in music genres, and to come up with an attractive show. The final running order will be announced in March of this year.
