  2. Mina Member with a "past"

Kasey - "Kiss Me There" ....where? :o
  3. Julio STRANGLES

  4. Julio STRANGLES

My favourite would be Ryan Dolan, but overall one more weak selection.
  5. Mina Member with a "past"

I think Love will survive can do reasonably well in Malmo if it wins the nf and if he can sing well live. The ballad also seems nice but, again, it depends on live performance.

Brendan's "speculation" on escXtra all seems to have come to nothing :P

sok, Janet, you're late in saying you don't like any of the Irish songs :P
  9. Luis DLC I spread Eurovision joy in the US, oy

At great personal inconvenience I have listened to the irish songs (and the Finnish ones). I had listened to Ryan Dolan as per your link above. I haven't seen (or heard) him sing live but I imagine he will be prancing around. Let's hope he can pull it off, because it's probably the best.

I don't mind Son Kez and there are enough of Inchequin that we are not going to have to be subjected to Irish dancing during the very Irish-sounding instrumental part (unless they go à la Gaitana and have a film in the background - wouldn't put that past them.)

    Aimée's OK.

This, ofc, is not to say I particularly like any of them. And they do seem to be relying rather heavily on the Auto-tune. :P

It all depends how they sound on the night, to see how I'll vote. Last year, Donna McCaul had my fav eurosong entry ever.....but the performance/vocal on the night left me very disappointed. My votes went to Andrew Mann, and the duo Una & David (and it still wasn't enough to beat Jedward :o).

My order of preference for the moment, for the Irish eurosong hopefuls 2013 would be :

    1. Ryan - Only Love Survives
^^ I usually favour female vocalists, but this is my favourite by far !

    2. Kasey - Kiss Me There
^^ Love this too, but not sure the voice is right for the song ?

    3. Zoe - Fire
Love this almost as much as Kiss Me There, and prefer this girls voice. I'd rather have Zoe sing Kaseys song.

    4. Aimee - Crashing Down
I do like a nice ballad, and this is nice.....but a bit on the dull side. I won't rule it out though, and it might grow on me.

    5. Inchequin - Son Kez / The Last Time
I like the guys voice, and the song is quite 'sing-along-able', but hmm I dunno, it just leaves me feeling that it's kinda average.
  12. NickEmpel BURGER AND FRIES

    And here's the winner:

  13. Norbert Welcome

    i like the song :)
  14. James ... and his things xD

I think it didnt start bad, but the chorus is kinda weak.
  15. NickEmpel BURGER AND FRIES

The song itself is not that bad, even though I'm not a fan at all. His voice makes this shit for me.
  16. CTP Jass hater

He needs to put in a better vocal performance if he wants to do well. I don't care for the song, but with a good performance, it could do ok.
  17. sokrates1988 I HATE EUROVISION

what an awful selection of songs, whichever one got sent would be bad
  18. mrvirgo Active Member

I think they sent the worst song in their NF.Also Ryan's voice is irritating me!

I love the studio version, but at the preselection it was just...
I hope he can at least sound a little like the music video come May :/

I voted for Ryan on the night ! So pleased that he won. It's been years since I've liked our entry. I more than like this song - I love it !!
*does a cartwheel out of pure happiness and joy*
Aimee had been my 4th choice, but she really impressed me with the strongest vocal of the night, and ended up as my 2nd choice. Pleased to see her get a close 2nd place. I hope she returns next year. I think, if the song had a key change to take it up a notch towards the end, it could've been the better choice.
My second fav song was by Kasey, and she was the only one to get minor negative comments from the panel. I agreed with the panel. She needed another couple of backing singers for support. I was surprised that she ended up as high a 3rd place. I expected her to come 5th.
Inchequin came 4th,and I enjoyed them. I like the mans voice more than the song.
Zoe came 5th - I love the verses, but the chorus didn't have enough lyrics ; just her screaming 'Fire' over and over.
