It seems France is going for a national final. And if that's true, here we have the first entrant for their national final: It's Anne Marie David! The woman who won 1973 and came third in 1979 is trying again! This time with a good old fashioned French ballad called Je Manque De Toi!
Ok no Anne Marie David, that was confirmed a few days ago. However, France did select their entrant! It's 34 year old Amandine Bourgeouis, who won Nouvelle Star in 2008! Below you can see one of her old singles.
A small snippet of the French entry seems to be available now. You can hear it by clicking here. It's a video of Amandine in the studio and it's said to be part of 'L'Enfer Et Moi'. What do we think?
Last night I said I was pissed off that we didn't hear anything from France yet. They must've heard me, I guess? Tomorrow, 10am CET, the song will be available on Spotify.
Not 10am in the end, it was 1pm when they put it on Spotify and made it available to the French only. Thanks to some listener, it's now on YouTube!
I can't say I dislike it. I actually like it, but it just plods along for two minutes and then she seems to think: let's bring a little life to this. Good attempt, could've been amazing though.
i will not remember this one within all the other entries. the melody isn't catchy enough and it sounds very monotonous. i also don't like rough voices. could be one reason why i have Norway and Malta as my favourites so far
I actually quite like this. It plods a bit I suppose, but she's got an interesting voice, which might help it stick out from the other slow songs, and the end provides a nice bit of energy the song needs.
I like it too, the plodding is part of the genre the song is suposed to be: a bit jazzy in the beginning and a little explosion in the end. I'm also glad France goes with a song in French again.
not a winner, nothing wow, on the other hand nothing bad or awful either, its quite ok based on this year standards imo
It's very average for me. For half of the song, I expect the music to go 'somewhere'. but it doesn't. Plus I don't particularly like her voice, it's not pleasant to my ears. Maybe a good staging will help...although, when did the French have a good staging? Prediction: if juries vote for it, somewhere mid-table. If not...hello bottom.
