I love Leonard Cohen and that's who Serhat reminded me of...as you said, not at his level but he tries.
I think it's ok. I prefer it to typical pop or ethnic...hip hop isn't everyone's cup of tea but I find the song acceptable. Wouldn't vote for it but the same goes for 90% of the songs chosen so far.
If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all? This is one of those that can win me over with an excellent live. I kind of like the chorus, I kind of don't like the verses. Decidedly meh, all in all.
The Australian song is ok but, for me, it's one more song I wouldn't vote for. It reminds me a bit of past entries of Azerbaijan..on the more boring side..I don't think it can win but it may do well (they did last year with something worse, after all)...and, basically, I'm now only waiting for the surprise from Azerbaijan.
Did Greece send crap? Yes Did Australia send something good? Yes Will Azerbaijan go back to dreary female stuff? Yes
Melodifestivalen 2016 - The Final Ace Wilder - Don't Worry Wiktoria - Save Me Molly Sandén - Youniverse SaRaha - Kizunguzungu Lisa Ajax - My Heart Wants Me Dead Robin Bengtsson - Constellation Prize Oscar Zia - Human Panetoz - Håll om mig hårt Boris René - Put Your Love on Me (IN A LITTER BOX) Frans - If I Were Sorry David Lindgren - We Are Your Tomorrow Samir & Viktor - Bada nakna What a Miltonesque ranking. Regardless, I think it's probably one of the strongest final line-ups ever, I'd say all the songs could easily achieve top 10 at Eurovision (apart from the AC qualifiers, but they are strictly #fun4Sverige) with a couple even challenging for winner/top 5 status. My preferred choice, taking the song and performance into account, would be Wiktoria - it's super catchy and I love the staging. I am saddened by the changing of the guard (poor, brave Linda - and to a lesser extent Martin) but I think it's ultimately for the best and as Hasse showed, schlager/dansband will always have a place in the Swedish music scene and the hearts of the viewers.
