Eurovision 2011 Updates including ALL of Romania's and Switzerland's songs Taking Liam's advice of putting everything into one thread instead of several with little information, I've made this one that I'll use from now on for every country. First is...Romania http://www.tvr.ro/eurovision/?pagina=concurenti Here are the songs. One of these will be chosen as the representative on New Year's Eve.
Switzerland has chosen its first finalist http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWaPTQOQWC4&feature=player_embedded

The "we'll sees" of Eurovision 2011: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_Song_Contest_2011#Undecided_countries If Lithuania and Slovakia participate the count will be 33. The EBU stated that it had changed its own rules and that if the Hungarian and Liechtenstein broadcasters get a nod in December then we'll see them on stage in May.
With one more song being chosen by one of the Swiss broadcasters the line-up is now complete. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbKCX...layer_embedded http://www.drs.ch/lib/player/radio.p...pup&skin=srdrs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTaAzvLHncs http://www.eurovisionplattform.sf.tv/videos/play_the_trumpet (they replaced Orpheline. Bosnia & Herzegovina will show their song on February 20th. That week seems to be popular. So far Austria, Denmark, Slovenia, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia will all be deciding during that week so get your multiple windows and streams ready.
That Swiss song by Aloise that I posted is not their Eurovision song. I guess they just wanted to show who the last qualifiers are. The song will come later...
3Js have written 7 songs, only 5 will be used in the Dutch preselection. They're still deciding if any English will be used.
Ukraine's 4th semifinal qualifiers. http://eurovisiontimes.wordpress.co...astasiya-zlata-and-mika-qualify/#comment-1684 Prihodko, everyone's favorite ranting bigot of the 2009 contest has made it with an oontz oontz song which includes her signature yelling.
In Switzerland Orpheline withdrew for personal reasons so Play The Trumpet was its replacement, but now that has been disqualified for being released before September 1st. Its replacement is this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8IVPMRUVABY
http://eurovisiontimes.wordpress.com/2010/11/24/slovakia-participation-very-unlikely/#more-2632 Hang in there, Slovakia. Do an internal selection or if you really really must then take a break, but please don't make it permanent. Vizz, let's punch Lina if Slovakia misses out and she talks crap.
Lithuania's in and that brings the total number of confirmations to 33. C'mon make it 40! France what are you waiting for? And Russia we know you won't miss out, so hurry it up!
The deadline to announce if you're going to be in it is December 15th so there's still time. The director said there's still a bit of hope. Central European powers, activate!
Deadline to submit songs in Lithuania is January 3rd. No other details announced yet. Submissions open until December 31st. All songs must be in...GREEK. A jury of 7 will trim down the submissions. We'll know more later. The yearly rumor of Tarkan going for Turkey is here again, let's wait and see... Good news for Mina, Johnny Logan will be at the Romanian national final. He'll probably be singing What's Another Year 30th anniversary Edition.
5 songs for Ireland The national broadcaster has enlisted five music industry professionals to develop and mentor five individual song entries, with the winner selected by a combination of a public vote and regional juries. The songs will be presented on February 11th on the Late Late Showwhere the winner will be chosen.
