It's not entirely unexpected news that Armenia have decided to pull out after all.
Now Portugal and Holland have more chance to qualify.
I think they should exclude countries who act like that
they shouldnt have let them in in the first place
To be fair James this is a different situation than most. I think a country who has been at war with the host country since 1991 or so has every right to withdraw if they are concerned over security.
Sad for two reasons: Last minute withdrawal, I thought there was a chance of at least a week of no shenanigans between the two and the fact that some people on facebook from neighboring countries *cough cough* celebrate it like if it's the second coming at the official page of the contest .
Now the question is: A fine? A temporary ban? A we'll let it go under the circumstances?
I understand Armenia's position in this. I'm sorry they're out this year but it does make sense.
Eurovision makes people to think we are all one at least one night or more.It is a song contest not the political area. They are not in a war now, they have political crisis so i dont think they had to withdraw from contest. It would be a fine attempt for Azerbaijani and Armenian relationship if they stayed in eurovision. If i looked to previous contests honestly i can say that, this news didnt suprise me.
Last i wanna say something after seeing something that disturbed me,nobody is responsible for someone else's message about this topic,Our countries dont represent just those minority.I hope that this makes sense. ty.
If it was me, I fixed my sentence to show how I really feel. I know that it's only a few and not the whole country; there are also people from the areas I mentioned that are sad and posted their disappointment on Eurovision's facebook page.
nope i didnt mean anything about this forum
One thing that does bug me though is why so sudden? Why not December/January for example?
