I think next year the bbc are planning a 5 day event and will choose a singer from a possible 20, but the event itself will have nothing to do with eurovision nor will the songs performed. Oh wait - that's RAI
And now it seems The Daily Mail went with a story about a former child star. Bonnie Langford, 48 years old, is an actress, dancer and singer. Lately she's been active as a musical actress. If it's really her, then you can prepare yourself for a rather Broadway/Westend style song. Here's Bonnie singing 'The Other Side Of Me':
Oh and as if we didn't know it yet: Mika will definitely not go to Malmö. He's performing in Japan 14th/15th May.
So, I just heard that Graham Norton said that the artist had been played on his radio show in the past week. Someone then came up with the full list of those artists. I decided to delete the groups and the dead ones from the list and split the others in two groups: British artists and non-British artists. I'd say the British are the most likely to fly the flag in Malmö. British artists: Gamu Jessie J Joss Stone Paloma Faith Petula Clark Joy Sarney Lily Allen Lemar Jack Savoretti Olly Murs Robbie Williams Wayne Fontana Mick Hucknall Alexandra Burke Laura Mvula Tyler James Non-British artists: Kelly Rowland Lindi Ortega Debbie Harry Shea Caro Emerald Jackie DeShannon Eagle-Eye CherryRODRIGUEZ Loudon Wainwright III Sam Gray Randy Edelman Claudia Brücken Cody ChesnuTT George McCrae Bruce SpringsteenTaylor Dayne Collin Raye Toni Basil Nicole Scherzinger Rozalla Rachael Sage Bobbie Gentry People who were not necessarily on Norton's show, but which are rumoured: Dido - Unexpectedly got an A-list status after a rather unsuccessful comeback Bonnie Tyler - Was played on Norton's show as the first artist after his hint that he played the artist in one of the last 4 shows + tourdata fit
I am so curious about UK's choice. I do hope the selected artist will be amongs these: Caro Emerald, Paloma Faith Petula Clark Lily Allen Jessie J
The BBC have been pushing her like mad for several months now. Wayne Fontana has done nothing since the 1960s (so it'll probably be him then ) Debbie Harry, ofc isn't British (but would be great!) Joss Stone, however is (British). Nicole Sherzinger has been gushing about the UK over the past few days. I seem to recall Lemar being mooted in the past. He would be OK I think. Tyler James' 'background' (2nd in The Voice) would seem to make him the most likely, I think, but I don't see him doing it. I've never heard of 4 of the British performers No, REALLY I haven't PLEASE GOD/JUCHE DON'T LET IT BE ALEXANDRA BURKE
according to Graham on BBC radio the song will be revealed on the 18th, they will perform on the 23rd on his show, however, there will be a ''big clue'' on Saturday the 16th he said. He also said if you got to their website playlist they played the act on the last 4 weeks. He also adds about the speculation that it is not a ginger person. you can listen to this in here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01r08mk (at 1:30:40)
He did say "the person/the people". Has it definitely been stated it is a solo artist not a group? He also said "it's not a ginger person who's delighted the West End" so I suppose it could be a ginger person who hasn't delighted the West End. Probably counts Bonnie out though. Phew!
