France wants 100% televoting back!

  1. Mina Member with a "past"

According to a report in the weekly news magazine, Le Point (in French), Nicolas Pernikoff, the head of entertainment at France Television, is unhappy with the current 50-50 split between national juries and the viewing public. Apparently, says Le Point, there were negotiations going on in the corridors of the hotel at which various delegations were staying during last weekend's contest in the Norwegian capital Oslo. Alliances were created to exchange points and Twitter used to influence the vote of juries in countries who would be allocating points at the end of the competition.

"It's a scandal and we'll bring it up at the next committee meeting of Eurovision," said Pernikoff. "I'll also put forward a motion that only the vote of the viewing public be taken into consideration," he added. "Why should there be juries involved?"

Lets see...public cant be trusted because of diaspora and neighbourly voting. Juries cant be trusted because of twittering for votes. I say we dump BOTH the televote AND the juries, and just let Simon Cowell determine the winner. If we need a second judge, bring in Paula Abdul :D

Since they said that they will report this to the next EBU meeting, it looks like they're pretty serious about some of the juries this year exchanging points and negotiating in the corridors of Oslo Plaza. :S I don't know.. some people complain about televoters, other about juries...tbh I can see a downfall of this contest if it goes like this LOL although the 50/50 seems to work fine.

As soon as the jury members have been chosen ship them to the host city, lock them up with no cell phones or anything, monitor them closely at all times, make sure they never meet each other and bring their meals to their hotelrooms. The end. :)

Why should the different one be ME and not YOU.
FOR ME , it's YOU the one who's are different.
And even if I really am different , then I prefer it than being boring.

They didn't complain about juries last year when they guaranteed France's place in the top 10  Just saying :P

If delegations are meeting to exchange votes and then relay those back to the juries it is horrendous, and if so it should definitely be comatted obviously. However we also have to remember some of the televoting is equally as bad (Look at the figures for the Turkish televoting and how biased they really are)

I think that the juries should be kept completely anonymous before the show takes place. I know that some were revealed shortly before the final took place, which is just wrong.

Also, in an effort to avenge Sieneke it seems there is no other choice than to make me an official UK jury member next year. ;D
