Last Friday, the nations which are members within the European Broadcasting Union could submit their application to take part within the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest which is set to take place within Düsseldorf, Germany. Following a lengthy absence from the event, the organisation would like to confirm that RAI has submitted it's application and therefore Italy are set to compete for the very first time in 13 years.

Many people have been wanting Italy to mark it's return into the event and this is surely a nice early Festive Season Present for all. People should always note that Italy and the Eurovision Song Contest are quite synonymous with the nation being extremely successful having been winners on two different occasions, in 1964 with Gigliola Cinquetti and her song "Non Ho L'Eta" as well as 1990 with Toto Cotugno and his entry "Insieme: 1992" apart from the multiple top ten finishes that the country had during its participation period.
