That's a massive bunch of rubbish from Malta. There was not one song I even remotely enjoyed. I wish Malta would send the Sisters to just be the laughing stock of Europe. Not much more to say.

I don't know why I decided to do this to myself but I have fond memories (maybe nightmarish, also) of Moldova's preselection which I ranked alongside Nick at the same time. So, I can't disappoint you. :P

WHAT a pile of poo. None of these songs I would voluntarily listen to again. I hope these songs are seriously reworked, especially whatever they send to Vienna.

I finally listened to them all.

For me, Chris Grech is head and shoulders above the rest as a singer...and I think Closed Doors has potential for a good result, too.

After him (and way below him) I like Lawrence Gray, Karen DeBatista, L-Ahwa, Corazon, Amber and Danica Muscat.

Cyprus has got a GIGANTIC national final with 60 (!) songs. See here. I suggest waiting until they've got a little less songs left :P

Also, here's a recap of the Maltese songs, for those who want a 7:14 torture instead of an hour long torture.

Time for the RSI candidates from Switzerland! Just three for the Italians!

    :ch: RSI Selezione regionale :ch:
    1. Deborah Bough - 1, 2, 3 Take Me Back To 23
    2. Elias ft. Zero in On - Your Perfume
    3. Vad Vuc - Cocktail E Fantasmi
The past years, RSI was possibly the 'best' of the three Swiss regional finals, but they've ruined it this year. If one of these three manages to beat the SRF and RTS competition in the NF, I'm afraid for the Swiss.

ill go for song 3 from Switzerland ta
  12. Rua Haldor Lægreid Impersonator

Deborah Bough - 1, 2, 3, Take Me Back To 23 (I hope she changes the title to 1, 2, 3 (Take Me Back) or simply 23) is a relatively catchy, inoffensive song with a nice hook in the chorus. It's not bad but it's not great.

Vad Vuc - Cocktail E Fantasmi has some bouncy and lovely music. I don't know how much you could do with this one but I quite like it - it has something fun about it.

Elias ft. Zero In On - Perfume is a rather basic indie affair, he has a nice voice but there's nothing that catches me unlike Vad and Deborah's songs. I found myself bored about halfway through.

    So, my ranking would be:
    1. Deborah (only a slight margin)
    2. Vad Vuc
    3. Elias
  13. James ... and his things xD

where can we see this songs, hanita?

:ch: RSI Swiss National Final :ch:

Deborah's song is bad, but not horrendous - I'd suggest just Take Me Back (to 23) for the title, as the 1, 2, 3 part is a bit childish imo.
Vad Vuc's song is nice, I like the Italian and the folk feel of this.
Elias's song is not bad, but a bit boring. I do like his voice.

That means my ranking is the exact opposite of Nick's:
    1. Vad Vuc - Cocktail E Fantasmi
    2. Elias ft. Zero in On - Your Perfume
    3. Deborah Bough - 1, 2, 3 Take Me Back To 23
All songs have the possibility of failing live though, so I'm curious about the live show
  17. Merjan BOSOPOFO ELSIE

And we often need to be afraid for the Swiss even when (we think) they have something decent.

Deborah I liked Coctail E Fantasmi most. But it's not something amazing. :)

The French part of the Swiss nf (RTS) will have 6 songs from this selection of 26 songs.

The German-Romansh (SRF/RTR) had an online voting, and the results of those votes combined with the votes of a jury panel will tell us which 9 songs will proceed. It had 210 (!) entries (see here), and there must be a song with the quality of My Song in there, but I don't feel like listening 210 songs.

So, we're back to the season and we've got 6 songs from :ch: to have a look at! You can find them at his handy dandy link http://www.escchat.com/news/the-six-finalists-have-been-chosen.59589/

    1. Timebelle - Singing About Love
    2. Melanie Rene - Time To Shine
    3. Tiziana - Only Human
    4. Deborah - Take Me Back To 23
    5. Andy McSean - Hey Now
    6. Licia Chery - Fly

    Quick notes:

    Andy McSean. Just no.

Singing About Love has potential if it sorts out what sort of song it wants to be. It's definitely the best for me, by a big margin.

Tiziana has a lovely, clear voice - but the song goes nowhere.

Who told Licia Chery that she could sing?

Melanie Rene has an alright voice and an alright song. It gets dull after the first minute and a half.

Deborah cannot sing - which is rather unfortunate considering she has a song with a catchy chorus.

One thing is sure - we're not heading to Switzerland.

Also, have a look out for 2:11-2:13 during Singing About Love to see a woman on the red couch at the front picking her nose. :D
