    Some genius made this video and I think it shows exactly why Heroes won. Måns knew exactly what to do and how to do it from his first performance until his last. His timing is nearly spot on everywhere and the Swedes just knew what they were going to do. Clear, structured and clean.

    I won't blame the guy because he has little to do with this. The only thing I can see here is a guy moved by the arrogance and lack of sensibility of his record label or some superior, that just took a 3 years old video by an indie forgotten artist and mixed it with a rather average song, though standard enough to succeed and try to make a boom out of it. Then prepare and extend the light video to make it fit a bit more with the song (omg he says butterflies let's make a butterfly, Louvre material indeed), because they just took it for the aesthetics in the first place. Oh and of course they needed a singer for their superhit boom formula, and he could be no more than a just a good looking guy that doesn't sing bad. He doesn't have to be the best singer ever either, the song isn't that difficult to sing. But please, don't bring Hera Bjork or Susanne Boyle in this, it just ruins the whole thing (and yes, no matter how many times they could've rehearsed it, it wouldnt be the same thing). Well, this Mans is good 'nuff. Not that it will be an utterly hard work for a good dancer like him to learn some movements and sing it with 5 backing vocals, will it?

    WHOA and now we've got it, a super hit... though it wasn't!! It wasn't the most outstanding song of the night, not even after all that effort. Not even the second most outstanding song. And probably, if juries knew what was behind this, all this emotionless music industry machinery, we'd be moving to Moscow or Rome next year. Not to talk about the minor part in which Mans was involved, when he was asked about the above and just laughed and said they'd change the clothes of their 'issue'.

    Well, I do hope he gets his ideas stolen and ridiculised some day, if he ever gets one idea by himself, ofc.

    I'd like to know how 'nonsense' it is that his performance is just - and specially in the version he did before the plagiarism demand - an illegitimate use of this. (in case somebody doesn't know what I'm talking about)

    And how can one say after such obvious demand that the drawing is not that important and it will be changed... and then do basically the same but with a silly hat and trousers... it's just insulting.

    To add: It won. The rules are 50/50 and that's why he won. No one would've complained if he'd won despite losing the jury vote by 86 points. Stop being sore losers, you knew the rules before Eurovision and that's that.

    Man every single person is angry at the results, but everyone forgets that during Eurovision 2011 they won the jury televoting by a landslide and that Il VOLO was only ranked fifth by the jury in San Remo.

    It seems to me we have two separate issues here: plagiarism and performance.

    The Swedes admitted months ago they had been “influenced” by Joel Sebastian’s work (and he has probably done alright out of this… had anyone heard of him before? His Facebook page shows how much more interest there was in him last week) and that type of thing, for good or bad, will continue to exist. In business it would euphemistically be called ’networking’.

    The other matter is the performance (and how well-practised Måns was). Indeed, he managed to pull it off every time; sometimes a little out in particular places but generally interacting ‘perfectly’ with the animation.

    Many people have said the song would not have won without the animation, which may well be true, but we have to accept that ESC is now more than merely a song contest, it is a performance contest, and it has been for years. Today’s performances rely much more on technology rather than the older ‘people-based’ skills, such as stilt walking, ice skating, sand drawing, clothes changing, mast climbing, etc to make their songs memorable. This is why TV companies employ (for example) Emmy-nominated lighting consultants as part of their Eurovision design team and why, for example, the lighting operation in Copenhagen last year was one of the largest and most complicated light shows in the world, ever.

    Gone are the days when a singer wandered on stage wearing a new frock/suit and just sang. Even what appear to be very simply-staged songs nowadays are a triumph of technology. Cyprus, for example, which people would generally say was very simply done, makes full use of effects: black and white, the single spotlight in the total darkness, the starry background and floor, the non-pyrotechnic firework flashes… All the countries use - and are encouraged to use - technology to enhance their performances, and this year Sweden did it better than most.

    Janet has understood why I posted this perfectly. Hate the song, love the song, think it's an insult that it won, think it's the perfect winner, I don't really care - he won and you'll have to deal. My point was that they used the technology and were prepared to the smallest detail, something other countries should really learn from.

    In all honesty I do understand why people are annoyed. The rules are the rules and I'm not questioning the legitimacy of Sweden's win, but let's at least acknowledge that it's a tainted victory - the fact that this thread even exists is a testament to that.

    But HONESTLY can you blame them? :D If ORF managed to drag the final out for four hours I dread to imagine what RAI would be capable of.

    It's not the fact that it won that bothers me, it wouldn't be the first time ever that a song that I personally don't like has won. I'm totally ok with that!

    What is bothering and insulting is when someone takes advance by stealing. People defending Mans today would not hesistate to complain and show their disgust if, for instance, it was a proven thing that Azerbaijan bought their victory back in 2011 by paying some juries. Or Spain in 1968.
    That kind of stuff must be taken more seriously, because the winner isn't just a winner: he earns money from that, he gets massive attention from that, free advertising. And the real author of this job will get zero reward, but by those that are aware of what happened.

    All I'm saying is that everyone wants his job paid, his effort rewarded, and they should have worked with the artist on the first place-oh yes, we got inspired by you, you wanna take part?-, or at least pay him for his job, that lately allowed them to win. At least give him the credit he deserves, not completely ignore his existance and put some trousers on his work and laugh.

    Who the hell wants his job stolen? How can that be defended?
