Yes, I keep waiting for some sort of climax which really doesn't come; maybe they'll change the ending a bit. But it's a decent enough effort :P
  2. Curtis Belgium is a non country.

    Nottingham 2013 please.
  3. bashers Oooooshhh!

I've listened to it 4 times now...I actually really enjoy it. Loving the obligatory Key change! If he does the long note at the end he could do very well indeed as it would be a crowd pleaser. Not sure it's a contender for the win but we really shouldn't come last with some the shit being presented this year!

As you all know I said I would reserve my judgement until the song was revealed. Can I reserve it a little longer?

I suppose it's a good thing that I don't know what to make of it, means I definitely don't hate it. I like the simplicity of it, not overproduced, and yes it is very haunting, but ... and this is the main reason I can't make my mind up ... there is something missing, but I don't know what could be added to "beef" it up a bit. Drums are a definite no, but perhaps some backing singers, and maybe a piano?

Anyway, the last note, if delivered on the night could quite possibly raise the roof (I'm praying he doesn't do a Niamh on us)
  5. Luis DLC I spread Eurovision joy in the US, oy

I wonder who he'll take on stage aside from the guitarist or will it just be the two of them?

you could have just edited it ofc rather than deleting it :D

I think it's perfect with just the guitar.

Arlene Philips is staging it which presumably means dancers, and it seems very medieval to me, so a quadrille or something in the background, quite understated, like the song.

But it does need something, and while the last note 'hits the heights' I think the end should graduate up and not go down and then up again as it does at the moment. It's as if they suddenly discovered it needed a big ending and just told him to go up instead of down and to belt it out a bit.
  8. Merjan MICHAEL GOVE FOR PM

No I couldn't, because there was nothing of mine there and I wanted more of yours!

  10. Merjan MICHAEL GOVE FOR PM

Don't start on me. I am traumatised beyond recognition by all that awful haxball I was forced to participate in this afternoon.:'(
  11. bashers Oooooshhh!

Ar-bloody=lene Phillips...it'll be girls in skimpy dancers do doubt! It doesn't need much more. Just a simple guitarist or piano!
  12. James ... and his things xD

OMG this song is boring and very oldfashioned.
  13. matthewbell32 Du kommer alltid vara nummer 1 för mig

    simmer.
  14. The song is quite good and he's a great singer. Good Luck to the UK ;)

Jamesy...I expected better from you ;)

So we'll open the final. Not quite sure how that will go down. As the bbc pointed out last time we were first was 76 and we won by the biggest margin ever (at the time*). I don't think this will be, in the words of shirley bassey "a little bit of history repeating"

    * I added this afterwards for clarity :P

With us now knowing that it'll be the first on, it will likely be forgotten by most people on the night. Upper mid-table.
  18. jw HI. I'M ADAM SCOTT.

Juries don't care about the running order. This was always a song for the juries. Don't forget we even came 3rd in the 100% televoting era (2002) after performing 2nd, which was an even worse draw.

Engelbert will be fresh coming on first, that's going to help. His loyal fan base will vote for him no matter where he performs in the order and at least it won't get lost in the middle.

Even televoters aren't always put off by an early draw. Remember Dino Merlin last year. Performed 2nd and came 6th (6th with televoters). Spain performed 22nd and came 23rd (16th with televoters).

Performing 1st isn't that bad, really. Just as long as Serbia don't get drawn 2nd. :P

Soon as I heard the song I knew straight away that it would be in the top 10 however after being drawn 1st I can see it getting a mid-table result. I would love the Uk to get another top 10 result like we did with Jade in 2009 :). Good luck to the hump!!

I think he'll do great. For true fans he is doing a live webcast out of Washington in the USA on the 29th April. He may well sing this song live so i think it's a good chance to hear how he's shaping up for the big one. Check out the humpers website-it looks great.
