   Well you can't claim on your insurance I would think as wear and tear/gradual deterioration are excluded. Unless there was a sudden identifiable event that caused it to break in which case you could claim accidental damage :D

   On a serious note, is it just the slats that go across the bed? If so they are very easy to replace. You can get individual ones on the internet or buy a complete set with the webbing in between each slat. They are very easy to fit. If just one has broken, then move the broken slat to the end of the bed and use the one at the bottom to replace the broken one. That will provide a temporary fix so Onslow can have a good night's rest. How altruistic I am.

   What excellent advice jw. Thank you so much. This will, indeed, provide a temporary solution. I might even get away with mending it without him ever knowing there was anything wrong. You might just have saved my life! I am forever in your debt.
